Early planning investigated three potential corridor options between Moodlu and Moorina through Caboolture West. The central option was identified as the preferred alignment for Stage 1 of the Bruce Highway Western Alternative (BHWA).
The central alignment starts from the D’Aguilar Highway and travels south towards Caboolture River Road, staying close to the existing power easement.
The Stage 1 alignment was protected for a future state-controlled road in June 2022.
Timeframes for more detailed planning, design and construction of the BHWA are unknown at this time and will depend on government priorities and future funding commitments.
